Job Summary:

The 2nd Shift Supervisor will serve as the primary company representative on 2nd shift handling performance, employees, safety, machinery, and facilities issues. This position will assist the Manufacturing Manager in setting operational performance objectives for 2nd shift and monitoring to ensure that stated objectives are met.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day supervision and direction for employees working on the 2nd shift. Employees reporting to 2nd Shift Supervisor may include machine operators, material handlers, pickers, packers, and shippers.
• Understand performance drivers, operational needs, and machine functionality across the full spectrum of 2nd shift work centers.
• Troubleshoot and fix simple Level 1 machine issues per the Maintenance Schedule to maintain uptime and productivity.
• Pinpoint and communicate with Manufacturing Manager about any issues preventing performance objectives from being achieved.
• Execute the documented Building and Machine Shutdown Checklist at the end of each shift.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to provide direction and supervision of direct reports. Previous experience supervising frontline warehouse employees preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.
• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in operating forklifts is a plus but not required.
